Advertising with the RetortThe Retort is the student newspaper of MSU-Billings. We accept advertisements for our physical paper. We do not accept advertisements for our online paper at this time. Thank you for considering advertising in The Retort. Advertising in our newspaper is a great way to reach over 5,000 students along with faculty, staff, administration, and area readers. The Retort can be found across Montana State University Billings's main campus, the college of technology, downtown campus, and local businesses such as Hastings, Dairy Queen on Grand, and City Brew. The Retort is read for information about Montana State University Billings, the city, and surrounding areas. The Retort is a newspaper run entirely by students and publishing issues of 12 pages in length every two weeks during the fall and spring semesters. Black and White Ads
Ad cost = (# of columns) x (# of inches) x (ad rate). The Retort has a page size of 4 columns (2 inches each) wide by 16 inches long. Color Ads
GraphicsThe Retort can accept advertising material in JPEG, BMP, TIFF, PDF, and Photoshop formats. We also accept hard copies. Electronic information can be submitted via disk to the above address or via email to msubretort@gmail.com. The Retort will not accept ads in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher formats. DeadlinesAll space reservations must be made 7 days prior to publication date; all advertising material for The Retort must be received 7 days prior to publication date. Discounts15% off if you advertise in three or more issues within a year. 20% off if you advertise in six or more issues within a year. Preprinted Insert Rates
All space reservations for insert material must be made 5 days prior to publication date; all material for insertion into The Retort must be received 5 days prior to publication date. Inserts must be 8.5" x 11" or smaller. Check with the Business Manager for more information about pricing for multiple page inserts.
