Crotteau Becomes First Yellowjacket Volleyball All-AmericanDecember 11th, 2009 by MSUB Athletics For The Retort Montana State University Billings senior outside hitter, Devon Crotteau, continues to capture post season awards as she was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division-II Third Team All-America list, the organization announced Monday, November 30. Crotteau, is the first player in MSUB history to earn All-America honors since the program was founded in 1981. She was joined by Calli Scott of Alaska Anchorage and Brandi Vea of Central Washington as the only Great Northwest Athletic Conference players to earn honors. Scott and Vea both earned honorable mention honors. A native of Casper, Wyoming, Crotteau ranked fifth in the nation in kills this season (4.47). She also led the Great Northwest Athletic Confernce in kills and points and was in the top ten for service aces. She became the fifth player in MSUB history to record 1,000 kills for her career and was the only player to ever record three-straight seasons with 400 kills and 300 digs. For her career, Crotteau finished with 1,351 kills, which ranks third in the MSUB record books, 3,436 attempts, 1,114 digs and 118 service aces. Crotteau also has earned AVCA and Daktronics All-West Region honors. She was also named to the GNAC All-Conference first team for the second consecutive year and earned her second selection to the Academic All-GNAC team. Her selection to the Daktronics All-West Region team qualifies her for selection to the All-America team, which was announced December 4.
