Montana State Billings sophomore, Erika Halle, was awarded this week’s Great Northwest Athletic Conference player of the week award, the conference office announced on January 25. It is Halle’s first award this season and the second overall for the track and field team.
The Manhattan, MT native finished second in the 200 meter run at an open indoor track and field meet at MSU on January 22, posting a GNAC season-best time of 26.22.
On the season, Halle ranks fifth in the conference in the long jump with a best of 16-7 and eighth in the 60 meter hurdles with a best time of 9.96 (converted from a 55 hurdles time of 9.37).
The track and field squad will travel back to Bozeman on January 29 for the MSU Open. The meet is scheduled to have numerous Division I and Division II opponents entered in the events.
