Three Montana State Billings men’s basketball players scored over 20 points each when the Yellowjackets surpassed the 100-point mark for the first time since last season in a 103-95 victory at Western Oregon on February 13. With the victory, MSUB eclipsed its season win total from a year ago as it improved to 11-8 on the year and 5-5 in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference. WOU fell to 11-11 on the year and 4-7 in conference play.

DeAndre Chambers scored a game-high 25 points as he was 9 of 13 from the field and 7 of 9 from beyond the arc, while Brad Hodge scored 23 points on 8 of 10 from the field and 7 of 9 from the line to go along with nine rebounds. Lasha Parghalava scored 20 points off the bench on 7 of 11 from the field and 5 of 8 from deep. DaVell Jackson had 16 points and seven assists as the fourth Yellowjacket in double figures.

WOU had all five starters in double figures and six for the game led by 21 points from Kyle Long. He was 8 of 17 from the field and 3 of 8 from deep. Rico Myles tallied a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

MSUB shot 58 percent from the field on 35 of 60. The Jackets were 15 of 26 from beyond the arc and 18 of 24 from the line. In addition, the Yellowjackets had 20 assists to just eight turnovers on the night. The Wolves didn’t shoot that far off either as they were 35 of 64 from the field, 13 of 24 from beyond the arc and 12 of 20 from the line.

The game saw 10 ties and 17 lead changes as the Yellowjackets took the early lead. An 8-0 run by WOU capped by a triple from Long gave the Wolves an early 12-7 lead. The Jackets opened the lead to seven points at 30-23 with 7:21 left.

WOU ended the half on a 26-14 run for a 49-44 lead at intermission. The Jackets shot 53.3 percent from the field in the first half and 6 of 13 from deep to go along with making 6 of 9 free throws. WOU was an impressive 20 of 31 from the field in the half, 8 of 12 from deep and was just 1 of 3 from the line.

MSUB tallied one of its best halves of the season in the second half as it shot 63.3 percent from the field on 19 of 30 attempts. MSUB was 9 of 13 from deep in the second half alone and was helped by 12 of 15 shooting from the line.

The Wolves led by as many as six in the early moments of the second half, but the Yellowjackets continued to fight hard and chipped the deficit away. MSUB regained the lead on a Parghalava triple with 12:19 left and he followed with another triple moments later for a 70-66 lead.

A triple from Tarrance Glynn gave the Wolves the lead again with 6:46 left at 82-80.

Three triples from Chambers kept the Yellowjackets in the lead with a 91-88 lead with 3:23 left, which began an 8-0 run that sealed the victory.

The Yellowjackets returned home for the final four home games of the season on February 18 against Northwest Nazarene. The Yellowjackets then host Seattle Pacific on February 20 for Hall of Fame Weekend and the celebration for 1,000th win in program history, which was achieved earlier this season.
