Many Scholarships Offered to Future EducatorsFebruary 18th, 2011 by Press Release For The Retort Certified and classified employees of Columbia Falls School District Six are now accepting applications for the annual Future Educators Scholarship. The scholarship is offered to CFHS graduates who are currently enrolled in college and pursuing certification in elementary or secondary education. Funding for this award is made possible by one-time and monthly payroll contributions from approximately 40 district employees. The scholarship program began in September of 2003 and is expected to produce several $1,000 awards this year. Other eligibility requirements include: current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary institution; have earned a minimum of 60 semester or 90 quarter credits by the end of the current school year; have at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average; working toward his/her first bachelor degree; and intending to enroll next fall as a full-time student. Applications are available at Columbia Falls High School’s main office. Application deadline is the first weekday in June to be received in the high school’s Career Center. Former or current district employees interested in contributing to this scholarship can still do so. Please contact Kim Fleming in the district business office at 892-6550, ext. 426.
