In Good Glazes Offers Laidback Art Projects for All Ages

November 18th, 2011 by Melinda Wood Of The Retort Staff

If you’re feeling creative you want to let your inner artist, you should do it at In Good Glazes. Located at 2010 Grand Avenue, #5, the store offers ceramics to paint, mosaics, and canvas art projects. The staff is very welcoming and will make even the most reluctant potential artists feel at ease.

There are 300 different kinds of ceramics available to purchase and paint. After painting the piece it will be left on site until the weekly firing of the kiln. You’ll be surprised at how well it will turn out.

If you don’t feel like painting, you can try your hand at mosaics. First you pick out your base, choose your tiles, and get gluing. After placing and gluing each tile into just the right spot, your project will need to dry for 24 hours before grouting. Once the grout dries you can hang up your project and show it off.

If you don’t feel like waiting on your project to dry or be fired, try one of the canvas art projects that can be taken home the same day. A coach guides you through a painting project step by step. They do require at least two people and an appointment for this option but it’s worth it, especially for larger groups.

In Good Glazes is open Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 8pm, noon to 4pm on Sundays and they are closed on Wednesdays. For questions or reservations call 406-294-4278.
