Montana State Billings senior outside hitter, Devon Crotteau, was named Great Northwest Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday. This is Crotteau’s second weekly award of the season and the fourth such award for the team.
The Casper, Wyoming native had 32 kills and hit for a .391 percentage (32-7-64) leading the Yellowjackets to sweeps of Western Oregon and Alaska Fairbanks.
MSUB has won five straight since sustaining back-to-back home losses to Central Washington and Western Washington in mid-October.
Crotteau, who currently ranks sixth in GNAC history with 1,318 kills, also had 25 digs and three blocks in the two wins. She also has been ranked in the top ten nationally all season in kills and leads the conference in kills and points per set.
Crotteau also is on pace to become the GNAC career leader in kills per set average, currently sitting at 4.18. Her kill total is the highest among players who have played three seasons or fewer in GNAC history.
Riding a five match winning streak, MSUB traveled to Central Washington on November 12 where they beat the Wildcats, 6-1. This was MSUB’s first victory in Ellensburg in school history.
On November 14, the ‘Jackets played Western Washington to wrap-up regular season play. The Yellowjackets are 17-10 on the season and 10-5 in conference.
